This DRAFT Future Land Use and Growth Areas Map is intended to be a policy guide for future land use. It may be used to inform many future decisions including rezoning requests. Adoption of this map as part of the Comprehensive Plan does not change the current zoning of any properties.

Suffolk Draft Future Land Use and Growth Areas Map

This map depicts proposed future land use for the City of Suffolk as well as existing Growth Areas and proposed expansions.

The future land uses express the City’s intent for how Suffolk should use its land in the future, providing predictability and clarity as the City grows and changes. A complete description of future land uses can be viewed here.

The Growth Area boundaries depict where urban and suburban scale development is anticipated to occur within the City. The boundaries shown reflect both Growth Areas as adopted as part of the previous comprehensive plan (Suffolk 2035) and five potential expansions of the boundaries to accommodate anticipated new development in strategic locations, depicted in different colors and lettered A, B, C, D, and E.
